Short answer: Las Vegas reaches 100°F or hotter on 78.2 days in an average year, and its all-time record is 120°F, set on July 7, 2024. Nearly all of that heat falls between May and September. July is the hottest month, with a normal high of 104.5°F and a normal low of 82.0°F.

These figures come from two public sources. NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information publish the 1991–2020 climate normals for the Harry Reid International Airport station. The National Weather Service Las Vegas office keeps the daily records, which start on January 1, 1937. The 120°F reading broke the previous all-time high of 117°F. Average days at 90°F or hotter add up to 137.1 a year.

Nights matter as much as afternoons. A common question, asked in this r/vegas thread, is whether it stays above 110°F even at night. The records say no. The warmest night ever measured had a low of 95°F, on July 1, 2013, and that record has been tied. Summer nights do stay warm, though: normal lows run from 75.8°F in June to 82.0°F in July.
